Do Your Own Thing session

 11th February 2012

It’s really cold outside but lots of us braved the weather to come to Do Your Own Thing today. We have had a busy day with lots happening…

Cameron was in the DJ group and played two songs by JLS and a song by Usher.

The VJ group created animations for the Squidz Club coming up on 16th March of different sports spinning around.

Here is a few pictures...

We had a visit from Jane Evans from the Jack Petchey Foundation who really enjoyed meeting everyone and was very impressed with the music group.

This was written by David, Anthony, Cameron and Holly.

If you spot any spelling mistakes its Holly’s fault not David’s!

Do something special this weekend

Hi, Heart n Soul is now 25 years old and we want to raise £25,000 to continue to touch and change people's lives. We are getting there, just take a look at our octopus on the fundraising page it's bouncing pretty high http://www.heartnsoul.co.uk/fundraising.html but we really want to get it right to the top! Now it's pretty usual to say your donation can make all the difference, but don't take our word for it, take Lolita, Mark, Aldean and Lilly's who all appear in our film. Remember if you like what you see, forward the film on to your friends. You can also like us, follow us, do something - any donation will go down a treat. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Marching into the digital world

As Heart n Soul marches into the digital world, we now have a new digital studios at the Albany where we're based. It will be put to great use over the next year on a number of exciting projects including the Dean Rodney Singers www.deanrodneysingers.com, the Media Team's film project and a range of other work. Here's Mark at the official handover ceremony with Senay from the Albany - as you can see no expense was spared!

A Yee-haw Moment!!

Last night, Heart n Soul artists Tilley (& Del the Pig), Aldean Blair, Pino Frumiento, Lizzie Emeh, Kali Perkins, The Fish Police and Jazztronics, gathered at Heart n Soul HQ to discuss what 2012 has in store...

Suz Hogg, who is rebranding Heart n Soul's image, has been talking to everyone involved about their relationship with Heart n Soul. Suz opened the meeting by finding out how being part of Heart n Soul makes the artists feel and what it means to them. Everyone listened to each other's stories and experiences of their time at Heart n Soul.

Looking ahead to 2012, we found out the plans for Heart n Soul artists- some quite secret, all very exciting! From new collaborations to new albums, new performances to new bands, 2012 looks to definitely be, in the words of Dean Rodney Jr, a yee-haw moment!

Interesting night out

Last night a few of us went to see Theatre Tete De Pioche: Fragments De Vie at the Roundhouse Camden. An artist had made a range of curiosities from everyday materials from her home in France. Some of us liked it, some not, but it was an interesting experience none the less.
